Abrasive Belts  Belts can be employed for all grinding and sanding processes, e.g. with a contact shoe, on the unsupported belt or with a contact wheel, and are distinguished by their high tearing resistance and optimum stretch behaviour. Heavy, robust, X or Y cloth backings are used for flat surfaces. The machining of flexible parts needs lighter, more flexible backings of J, F or E grade cloth which adapt to the curvature of the workpiece. Industry and trade use belts in a multitude of lengths and widths on a whole series of machines. Offerimg belts in numerous sizes up to 500 mm wide for the machining of surfaces. Belts over 500 mm wide are classed as wide belts and are dealt with separately.
