After a successful business trip to the Far East early 1900
the late Mr. E.G. Kistenmacher established himself in Leipzig on the 17th
of June 1900. Nine years after and to keep up with the trend of time, offices
were moved to Hamburg where the company was registered in 1909.
For the first 4 decades after it’s establishment business was
concentrated on the markets of China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia,
Thailand Burma and India, with branch offices in Tientsin, Bangkok, Calcutta and
Hong Kong.
From 1937 until 1939 Kistenmacher & Co., London was called
into existence.
World War 2 put an end to the company’s business, however,
great activity was shown again with the resumption of exports in 1948. Contacts
to old customers overseas were renewed and new markets were successfully won:
the Near- and Middle East countries.
In 1987 we
established a subsidiary: Kistenmacher Auto + Technik in Hamburg for sales of
automotive spare parts.
Ever since it’s foundation the company devoted itself to the Export of German
and Continental Industrial products which include particularly:
After the death
of the founder in 1955 business was carried on by his partners Mr.
Erich Zühr, Mr. Hans Köhn, Mr. Fritz Felber and Mrs. Hilda Topp.
From 1983 till
2000 the new partners Mr. Hansgeorg Samusch (till 1991) and Mr. Carl-Heinz
Treutler (till autumn 2000) were managing the company in the third generation.
Today’s managing
partners and directors are Mr. Uwe Koerper and Mr. Dirk Kalke.
